Wahl Clippers Branding
Wahl Clippers Animal Division was looking to connect more meaningfully with their consumers, who ranged from pet owners to groomers and farmers and ranchers. The goal was to rejuvenate their branding, primarily through print ads, and to develop a new language and personality to deliver a more consequential understanding on what the brand stood for.
The first phase was to designed host a brainstorm session among the brand decision-makers to uncover the insights and true purpose of the product and to gain alignment to distinct themes that arose from the session.

In phase two, I took the insights gathered from our brainstorming sessions and combined them with the primary and secondary research provided. This synthesis allowed me to develop key insight themes that reveal the relationships between Wahl and its consumers. To facilitate understanding and navigation of these connections, I created Theme Guides that illustrate the various tones these themes could embody, helping to effectively communicate the stories behind each relationship.

In the next phase of the project, I meticulously expanded on the themes selected by the decision-makers, creating detailed Theme Guides that outlined potential directions and messages for our storytelling. These guides served as a roadmap, ensuring consistency and in our campaigns. Additionally, I developed a mini-style guide that established the look and tone for each campaign, reinforcing our brand's identity while allowing creative flexibility. This comprehensive approach not only streamlined our messaging but also enhanced the overall effectiveness of our storytelling efforts.

In the next phase, I dove deeply into the themes, defining their meanings and exploring how they could be effectively leveraged for each customer segment. By the unique characteristics and preferences of our audience, I identified key insights that would resonate with them. To illustrate the effectiveness of each theme, I began creating "ad-likes" that showcased the themes in action, demonstrating their potential impact on engagement and conversion rates. This approach not only highlighted the value of the themes but also provided a clear path for tailoring our marketing strategies to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

I designed "ad-likes" to serve as a crucial stepping stone for the brand's journey in branding and exploration. These designs, coupled with carefully crafted copy, a solid template that allows the brand to expand its identity. By using these elements, the brand can initiate new communication strategies and engage with its audience more effectively. This approach not only enhances brand recognition but also encourages innovative thinking and growth.
